A native cultivar, American Gold Rush has narrow hairy foliage that has been bred for its superior Septoria leaf spot resistance, even in wet and humid conditions. Slightly shorter than Goldsturm, the compact and mounded habit of this Black Eyed Susan is covered in blooms from July through September. The flowers attract wildlife, and the dried cones provide added winter interest after the color has faded in the fall. Truly versatile, plant in containers, borders, naturalized areas, and cutting gardens. Introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens.
